Write about traffic.

Set the timer for 10 minutes and start writing. When the timer goes off, give the piece a title, count up the words, and post it below.

On Detours

This is the tale of two Notes, one about a novel and one about a not-novel:

This one (4/15/25) is about my attempt to push my way through revisions, my lack of an agent, the fear I had lost my mojo. The overall vibe was to keep going.

This one (5/18/25) is about how I ditched that novel a few days later, because I realized that was the only way I could keep going, just not in the way I originally thought. I had to drop the weight of that book which I had carried around for many, many years and listen to my own creative wisdom again. The overall vibe is to keep going.

And then I got a book deal.

I want to help everyone keep going in the most expansive and creative way possible, by telling your stories and checking in with your own creative wisdom.
