It's Micro Monday, where you get a quote and a writing prompt to help you build a portfolio of work. If you're new to micro prose and writing with me, check out this post here.
Quote #120
The writer must believe that what he is doing is the most important thing in the world. And he must hold to this illusion even when he knows it is not true.
John Steinbeck
Prompt #120
Write about a time you had to clean something up.
Set the timer for 10 minutes and start writing. When the timer goes off, give the piece a title, count up the words, and post it below.

Join me on Substack for weekly-ish live 10-minute guided writing sessions. The live session is free; the recording, weekly challenges, and bonus downloads are for paid subscribers.
All subscribers receive a notification in Substack when I go live. I sign on 5 minutes before and stay 5 minutes after for questions and little boosts of encouragement and/or mini craft talks, but you are welcome to drop in anytime. Even if you join with 2 minutes left on the timer, you will get some writing done. This is all about trusting the process, and trusting yourself as a writer.
Past writing sessions are here for paid subscribers. Free subscribers, if youβd like to watch a replay and see whatβs included, Session #10 is FREE for all subscribers until the end of the month.
