Today’s session focused on writing from what’s present, trusting what shows up on the page, and exploring how micro prose can expand into something larger through form. We talked about staying open to whatever emerges during the writing, whether it connects directly to the prompt or not. The goal is not to control the outcome, but to pay attention, include what appears, and trust that it belongs. We then looked at Patrice Gopo’s essay in fragments, “On Emergence and Transformation: A Timeline Essay” (Brevity, 2022) as an example of how form can help us shape our micro and deepen our narrative. Form, in other words, can help you find your story.
